E&O Risk Management: Meeting the Challenges of Change

Morning Session 8am-11am

This first part of the course provides a thorough review of the exposures that may cause an uncovered claim, supported by current statistics, in order to identify those areas within the agency that require a focus of risk management efforts. This course will discuss E&O claims and defenses, in particular, the defenses of: 1) invariable practice and 2) documentation. Identifying and closing inconsistencies in workflows will be discussed as well as documentation procedures and the importance of using appropriate disclaimer language.

Afternoon Session 12pm-3pm

This portion of the course provides a thorough review of the concepts of the law of agency including how the agency relationship is established, the key provisions of agency agreements, and underwriting guidelines that could create potential E&O exposures. This course will also explore what determines an agent's standard of care to insureds and how to manage that standard. Attendees will dive into the operations of insurance agencies and learn to adapt operations because of changes in carrier capabilities and workflows, the implementation of tools like upload/download, and competitive raters. Attendees will also explore how invariable practices serve a valuable defensive strategy and how consistent use of questionnaires can prove an invaluable tool for E&O risk management.

All cancellations must be done in writing 24 hrs prior to the webinar start in order to receive a refund less the non-refundable credit card processing fee.
